This week at our Sunday afternoon gathering, we shared readings from the story of the last week of Jesus’ ministry on earth as they are found in the Gospel of Mark. At the point in the story where Jesus shares his last supper with his followers, we shared Communion in memory and in imitation of our teacher, leader, and savior, Jesus.

In this post-Passion of the Christ world, it was powerful and moving to share the simple, bare words of the Gospel itself among loving friends and Jesus-followers.

We planned a little fun for the children in addition to Sunday school, which was led by Rev. Sara Blossom, associate pastor at one of our partner churches, Friedens United Church of Christ. After worship and Sunday school, all of us went to the small park down the street and the kids hunted for Easter eggs. Fun!
